Has anyone tried using dreams or dream images as targets? Pull out a dozen dreams, write them up, put them each in their separate envelope, randomly choose an envelope, task it.

The feedback for those sessions would be fun/interesting and provide a bit of more dream knowledge or interpretation and/or memory...hhhhmmmmm
interesting idea....

I'd be surprised if this hasn't been tried. Since we are dealing with subconscious info... what other subconscious info is there but dream info?
Just let me know folks. I have been thinking of making a target pool of familiar, significant targets from my past. In my grand theory of how PSI works, significant events are loaded with viewability. We shall see. Hey look, a pun... I am still not convinced that success in RV has so much to do with the target as the RV event itself... but that's for another thread... another time.

Well... nice idea..
But for now Im sticking to the idea of remembering to do a RV session while INSIDE a lucid dream ;)
Ive been having many lucid dreams and I can now control them better, understand and make the lucidity longer even If I start to wake up..
My "dream" idea inside my Lucid Dreams is to make a very visual Remote Viewing session or Induce an OBE while in Lucid Dream state ;-)

Mr. Joe McMoneagle tells a fascinating story about when they had him remote viewing during lucid dreaming.
He said there was great results. Problem was, he got to the point where he could not tell if he was dreaming or not, which, as you might guess, can be "annoying".
So it might be a good idea to take it slow, though there is no reason to believe your results HAS to be like his. Just be careful and take care of yourself.

I once read that the record for false awakening was up in the twenties. Each time the person got nearer and nearer to their place of work...getting up, dressed, leaving home, getting on the bus......and each time they'd wake up. Anyway, I think they got to work in the end though. Perhaps they just didn't want to go ;-).
The difference though was that I don't think that dreamer ever became lucid during that experience; I can't remember it being mentioned anyway.
Coincidentally enough I had a false awakening one morning last week, which was my first one for, literally, years..aided I think by a drug my doc has prescribed which upset my sleep pattern.
Anyway, I awoke, got up, went out into my hall and opened the door to my kitchen,.. only to find it didn't look at all like my kitchen. It was a kitchen, yes.. but the layout and decor were different. I immediately became lucid. I then tried to do what I have wanted to do for years, and Ertai is also interested in (RVing from a lucid dream...altered state from an altered state? ;)), but it was a failure and I only ended up with a fine example of lucid dream AOL drive ;-). I don't think I was near enough consciousness to have full control or good enough judgement re what was going on, in order to do that sort of experiment. Some LDs are better than others in that respect.
Well I woke up again, and this time it was for real. I wouldn't like to get caught up in a series of false awakenings. I think the most I've had is two on the trot.
Kind Regards,
Glyn

I've heard it said that it's easier to rv stuff that one has personal experience with. So if that is the case, it might be easier to do sessions on remembered stuff from one's own past than say just a regular target out of a magazine. That might make for an interesting experiment...

AHA! Say, where did you hear that? As you've heard me drone on and on about this.... I think this is the case too. I made up a target pool of significant events from my normally boring past, and I think I will use them to test all this out. I think the personal stuff is loaded with "energy" or attractiveness to the mind, and all our perceptions are built around our personal conception of the world. Dream stuff is already stuff your prime-consciousness is using, so I would think that dream info would be good RV info.
...or, I could be wrong. What do you think?

I would like to express my hope that you do keep everyone posted on your progress at viewing targets from the lucid dream state. I have provided a link to the only example that I know of showing target contact from the lucid dream state. Im sure you and others will find it very interesting if you have not seen it already. http://www.lfr.org/csl/practical/labexamples.html John ;-)

I can't remember the exact source, but I've heard it said that Stargaters that had extensive experience in a subject, like say knowledge of airplanes, would tend to do much better when that subject was tasked to them.

Yeah, there was a story about Ms. Hammid who had difficulty RVing a nuclear reactor because she was unfamiliar with nuclear reactors.

There are lots of examples most experienced viewers can give of doing well on a target or aspect of a target they were familiar with, vs. not so well on things totally foreign to them. It's no hard rule of course (nothing is in this topic), but some people feel that in RV, the mind is digging through the database of personal experience--not just what we've seen but really "lived"--to find matches, and the more experience, the more match.
I once knew there were sage bushes in a target, which I find bizarre, as I've never even been aware of any plant in a target besides 'trees' as a generality. I grew up with sage everywhere in Ojai CA, so I think it was just an experiential factor. I constantly see the attempt at pattern-match in my sessions, as well, some of which can be seen as symbolic but I think symbolic data is just the closest pattern match one can get.
I really like the idea of targeting dreams. I've thought of it, but never thought to genuinely DO it (talk about easy on the armchair theory :-)) -- I'm going to have to throw some of those into a smaller pool I can do in the next month or so to experiment, that sounds neat.
I once did a session in a lucid dream. I noted in the dream how amazing that this target looks so much like the previous target (I was in the woods). Alas, it either was the previous target, or something else, as it was definitely not the target of choice. ;-)
