There ain't a viewer out there who hasn't had a really interesting session that turned out to have not a darn thing to do with the target.  The brain-pain of trying to figure out WHY is sometimes funny.  Usually we can track it to AOL Drive and find it in the session.  But sometimes, it just seems like it was a really good session--on a different target.  What's the most offbeat, non-matching data you've ever gotten in a session?

While initally, it was funny just how bad it was, today, I am actually quite miffed with myself for being so careless....
it was the worst prepared target I've ever presented.  I have no idea what I was thinking when I sent it off into cyber space..... :-/  I have better prepared grocery lists than that target report was.  Sheeeesh  >:(

THose really simple targets seem to be extra fodder for disaster.  I've done the moon several times.  In one session, it was kinda funny cuz the first thing I drew was a perfect circle that matched nicely will the full moon feedback.  But after that came about 17 pages of total garbage.   That was one of my longer sessions too and boy did the info seem to come so easily, LOL!

Another one that I did especially bad on was a wild cat sitting on a log.  There was nothing in the session that seemed to have anything whatsoever to do with that cat.  THe closest thing was an image of a bonsai plant in a pot (if you can call that close, which is really is not).  So that was another stinker.

I'm sure there have been others, but I tend to remember the early stinkers better!   ;-)

Well, let's see.  I usually have as much of an issue with just not getting data at all as profoundly screwing it up, but I do that too.

Like the three sessions in a row that all seemed to have the same data (this was weird) that I kept figuring was something like the challenger disaster.  In a pool of nearly 1000, I knew the challenger was in there somewhere, but it seemed weird I'd keep AOL-D on it--the three targets had NOTHING to do with the challenger.  On the next target, I refused ANY data that any relation to the challenger at all (not gonna make THAT mistake again--) and got no data, except a profound sense of grief and sadness that stayed with me for days. THAT one WAS the challenger explosion, LOL! Sigh...

There was the session, and I really thought this was going to be a good one, from beginning to end I had such a clear sense of it. Elevated slightly, stone, a dwelling place for people, but not anymore, long corridors, stone steps, quite a few little details about the steps/corridors/stone, a sense of "being set down in" (like the surrounding structure/etc. was high above), a sudden visual of something that reminded me of some archeological artifact, a gold half-face, top half, where the bottom isn't there, like a mask, that sort of thing.  I didn't know what it was, but it felt fascinating.

Feedback: The windmill farm... the famous one in the book, that Joe got eons ago.  Looks like McMoneagle is not in danger of losing his fame to ME any time soon, ha! ha!

Or the brief exercise session that seemed more like someone talking to me than a session.  Weird stuff:

"You're not going anywhere." A voice

sort of inaudible but translation is:

{total MD/ED for a minute, but can't remember now, body abreaction}
"Come on. Don't fight back. The plan is working fine. Don't be stubborn.  It's ok and it's underway."

Feedback: Three Peaceful swimming ducks on a shining pond.

There was the session where through the whole thing, I felt in motion.  I felt first like something came really fast toward me and lifted me off the ground, throwing me back, I aol'd a weapon result or something. But from then on, I felt a sense of speed, and like I was turning around.  Had major body-abreactions during this target (once in a great while I get those, usually on big disaster targets).  Feedback: a few tract homes in a neighborhood. (?!)

I'm going through my lab books trying to find some unusually bad ones for the thread, lol....

Ok here's another.  And boy why is it the ones MOST wrong are always the most free-flowing data? lol!  -- I was certain, by the end of this target, that I was describing some kind of old vehicle (possibly antique train) parked, a fair-like atmosphere with people everywhere, certain areas fenced off, like a park of sorts, a small boy playing in and out of the thing I thought might be a train car on display.  Feedback: an old photo of some store fronts in europe somewhere.

Go figure!

Fortunately these that are totally wrong, I mean THAT wrong, are rare.

When I have a session problem, it is usually more along the lines of either not really getting data at all, or being too ego-bent in the process and getting frustrated the data isn't flowing better.

People have looking for telltale signs of stinkerness for a while.  I've yet to hear anyone that has come up with any magic wand to separate wheat from chaff before actually getting feedback.  Many times, it' s the sessions that feel the best that suck the worst.  Most of the time, the viewer's own impressions of the sessions cannot be trusted.  IMO, this is one of the biggest probs in rv that remains to be solved.  RV could be so much more useful if there was a way to tell in advance which data is more accurate.  Currently, the main way is to extrapolate via  past track records of the viewers.

Yeah, sometimes a trainer will even advertise that with their method you 'know the difference' between wrong and right data.  All methods--and non-methods--with practice will eventually make it fairly clear to a person in early stages of the session what is more likely to be AOL vs. data, but when it gets into data at any level truly worth having, so far several million and huge efforts in science, using many many methods, have not been able to find anything to tell it apart for sure.  Viewers are notoriously the worst at judging the accuracy of their own viewing.  I think this is because what viewers are really judging is their *experience* -- which is not the same thing at all.

I have only found one small correlate to my own occasional "totally way off base" sessions.  And that is, that when I make a major change in my protocol, usually I'll have at least one session that is so far off base I am just looking at the feedback in disbelief, and feeling like a total dolt.  But I think this is an issue of belief systems, because I find if I stick with the change, that goes away.  It's like my psychology has a hard enough time with the topic; it grudgingly begins to adapt to a certain process; if I change the process, it instantly digs its heels in stubbornly and says 'No!'  But if I just let it slide off me and continue, that resolves.

Because I think its kinda the same thing.  More than one RVer mentioned that the subconscious is childlike, simple, and often unmotivated by our "adult" preferences.

Worst miss...

My very first session was a big hit, and my very second was a COMPLETE miss. I don't think any descriptors I wrote up applied to the target. You know that's hard to pull off ;-)  The first one was a HRVG one and the second one was from PJ's targets, and I did short one/two-pagers on both.The funny thing was, with the first target, all adjectives (or words, anything I wrote down) matched. I didn't really write much, so it's not that hard to have it all match as in a 10-20-etc page monstrum, and most of it was rather basic data.

Later, I read somewhere that with LSD trips, it's often the case that either the first trip's the best and the second's the worst you're ever going to have, or vice versa. "How to Get High Without Drugs" ;-)

Percentage-wise that's probably true in my case, but details-wise... back then I hadn't figured out that one should write down everything, and lost lots of valuable data as a result. Now I write down my complete mentation - or try to, hurts my hands! :o -, and by the time I reach the matrix stage, it should organize itself into something usable.

Yeah, on today's session, this wasn't the case... or maybe it was, I described the target's physicals, and by the time I reached the matrix, I was already delving into how it has an occult meaning, stuff like that... and upon looking at the feedback, I realized it reminded me personally a great deal of ourobouros/amphibouros/etc symbols, but it didn't really look like that, I'm seeing patterns where they ain't applicable (anyone read Foucault's Pendulum? ;-)).

Hi Rocheleh

    Please explain/describe how you mean matrix in this context.  I have seen the term matrix used in RVing as a sign post or a stage, and after much discussion on other threads about what matrix is, I still can't seem to get a clear understanding as to how you know you are 'there' or what being 'there' is like etc.  I hope my phrasing makes sense to you.

The matrix is the stage in which you have categories accross the top of the page and you go along and fill in stuff under each category.  Categories could be things like 'senses,' 'feelings,' etc.  The categories depend on the method you are using but are basically things you are expected to mentally check for at the target.  

I am not super familiar with the exact criteria that each trainer uses for when to move to the matrix stage.  I suspect for some methods, you simply do the stages that come before and by the time you are done with those, you just do the next stage.  For CRV taught by Lyn, there are things you look for to decide when you are ready to move on to succeeding phases/stages.  Sessions often but not always progress something like  the viewer getting simple gestalts and vague impressions (water, wavy, big), to getting more complex impressions (tilted to the side), to having an emotional response to the target (Oh, I see it! or Hm, seems ugly..), to getting conceptual data (it's used for fighting),...  I don't know the rest cuz I haven't taken training that far yet!  So for CRV taught by LYn, you look for these signs to know when to move on to the next phase and you also have the option of skipping stages or going back to previous ones whenever you want to.

Yeah, what she said.  The matrix in RV-methods is a grid on paper designed to help obtain and categorize certain kinds of data.

The 'matrix' is also what some people call the hypothesized, modeled great-database-of-all that one allegedly tunes-into when querying-for-psi-info.  So people might refer to the matrix and actually mean some cosmic repository of info or some neverland of all-that-is, as well.

I see others have explained this before me (thanks!), they are correct, I wasn't thinking of some sort of Gibson/Wachowski bros. style Matrix, just the stage where you write stuff down into a matrix. (that is, a grid of sorts)

See the TDS Basics file just to the left of the text boxes, what's described in there is ex-act-ly the kind of matrix I use.

Hi Rocheleh,

(I know you're out of the loop for 8 days but I'll post while I'm thinking about it.)

I remember back in '98, I hadn't done hardly any RV for years as I'd been so busy, and made this Big Decision to get off my butt and make it happen.  This was easier said than done, as I had a 60hr job an hour outside the home, a FT job working independently, a 2 year old child, dogs and cats, etc.... but I was DETERMINED.

So I sat down with my writing book and a target pool of about 150 and randomly got a target for viewing.  I did a few sessions on it, as I was stressed out, sleep deprived, and constantly interrupted, so getting into any decent state of mind (without snoring) was easier said than done.  

When I got the feedback, I was SO excited.  I had FELT it inside me, and I had even nailed down what it was, and I was just ecstatic.

On a roll, I did another session.  Boy that one went so well compared to the first one.  By the time it was over, I had a building, white, with equal round 'columns', and a fountain out front, and something really high like maybe a flagpole.  I had a sketch.  I was pretty happy about How Incredibly Omniscient I Was.  ;-)

The actual target was a train running through a near-desertish area in front of a very pointy tiny mountain I think in Mexico.

Humorously, there was a white building in the picture--a small structure out in the middle of nowhere, who knows what for.  There was a roundish pond of water some distance in front of it, probably just left over from a recent rain.  The mountain was specifically tall and pointed.  And the elevated train track was like none I'd ever seen: it was a single line of light colored cement round columns--I had never seen a track like that before.

It was about 3 years before I was able to see that the data itself matched but that I was in AOL Drive through the whole session.  I was too upset about it at the time.  At the time I saw it, I felt BETRAYED by myself.  I wrote that I couldn't have been farther off if I'd described Mars, and that in fact, describing Mars would have been a better session lol.

I think part of this is that there is a super 'fine line' one walks between "letting it happen" and "keeping a rein on it" as far as consciousness goes.  Slide too far one way and you're either imagining or in AOL Drive.  Slide too far the other way and you're either not getting data, or getting mostly trivial useless stuff your left brain is willing to let through.

I think it is fairly common for viewers to go back and forth, especially the first year or two, between the various degrees of 'allowance'.  A really good session can make one relax and accept TOO much on the next one; a poor session can make one critical or careful TOO much on the next one.  Just part of learning the subtleties I guess.
